Slow traffic on M5 after crash near Portishead

Traffic is building up on the M5 after a crash near Portishead.

The accident occurred on the southbound carriageway and led to all lanes being closed off for a short while.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesman said: “There is slow traffic due to an accident, but it is now on the hard shoulder on M5 southbound after junction 19 (Portishead).

“Police briefly held traffic in all lanes just after the entry sliproad but all lanes are now open again.”

UPDATE: The road is now completely clear.
