Queues are beginning to form on the M5 this afternoon (Saturday) as the inevitable summer getaway brings delays with it.

Traffic England is advising drivers to expect to sit in slow traffic for 15 miles southbound between junction 16 (Almondsbury) through to junction 20 (Clevedon).

The traffic is at its heaviest near Clevedon and around Cribbs Causeway.

No incidents have occurred however, and delays should be no greater than about 20 minutes.

A small queue northbound has also forwed between junction 21 (Weston-super-Mare) and Clevedon but delays are minimal.

UPDATE: (2.45pm) The traffic levels on the M5 have eased and no delays are now reported.
