PUZZLED residents are asking who decided to rename Portishead after a welcome sign on the approach road to the town was edited.
Over the weekend, letters have been pasted over the name on a roadside sign on the Portbury Hundred, welcoming people to Portisdown.
Councillor Arthur Terry, chairman of Portishead Town Council said: “This is more of the silly nonsense Portishead has been experiencing of late and unfortunately it is the tax payer who will foot the bill to get it cleaned off.”
