AN EXCITING hockey festival is expected to attract scores of visitors to Portishead this summer.

There will be some amazing prizes up for grabs at Gordano School Community Trust Sports Centre’s first ever large scale, two-day mixed hockey festival.

A spokesman for the centre said: “We have already received a great deal of interest from hockey players for this exciting event that will be a first for Portishead. The prizes include much sought-after customised Kukri Playing Shirts for a squad of 15.”

The event will take place over the weekend of June 22-23 when the St Mary’s Road site will be transformed into an event venue.

In addition to the great hockey, the weekend is set to provide fantastic entertainment with music on Saturday night from two live acts and a fully licensed bar.

To enter a team visit www.gordanosportscentre.org.uk and download the registration form.

The festival costs £34 per person and will include hockey tournament entry, camping with shower facilities, a food ticket and entry to the evening entertainment. All teams must be an affiliated club to England Hockey. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
