PORTISHEAD shoppers dug deeply into their pockets for charity.
Members of the Rotary Club of Portishead and their partners spent a day shaking their tins outside Lidl and The Co-operative stores in the town and collected a total of 694 for local charities.
A spokesman for the group said: “Our thanks go to both stores for allowing the collections to take place on their premises, to the collectors and most of all to the people of Portishead who gave so generously.”
