OUTSTANDING hanging baskets and a display of mixed fruit were some of the prize-winners at a weekend event in Pill.
The Pill and District Gardening Club Annual Members Show took place on Saturday with some impressive exhibits entered in the classes.
St George’s Church Hall in Priory Road was filled with colourful displays produced by gardeners who had battled torrential rain, high winds and slugs during the months leading up to the show.
Annette Knowles’ hanging baskets helped her achieve the most points during the event and Lesley Sharp’s mixed fruit was judged as the best in show. Club president Roger Kelly awarded the President’s Choice cup to Noel Ayling for his unusual display of dahlias.
