Scouts’ postal service raises 320

SCOUTS in Backwell posted more than 2,000 cards and letters over the festive period this year.

The 1st Backwell Scouts Group runs the popular Christmas postal service each year and the mail helped to raise more than 320.

The scouts are donating 45 of the total to Motivation, which provides wheelchairs for disabled people living in poorer countries, and the rest will be going towards scout funds.

More than 30 Backwell families with children in beavers, cubs, scouts and explorers helped to sort the mail and deliver the cards in icy conditions. The group would like to thank everyone who supported the service.
