Scouts across Nailsea and Backwell delivered hundreds of Christmas cards to raise money for young carers.

Members of 1st and 2nd Nailsea scout groups and Backwell Scouts ran a festive postal service to benefit the community.

The youngsters delivered 5,042 cards and the service raised £1,338. The generous groups have donated £150 to Young Carers in Nailsea, while the rest of the cash will be split between the scout groups.

Nailsea and Backwell scouts would like to thank the post offices, Coens, Hunter Leahy, School Togs, Budgens, the Co-op, Grove Stores, Maynews and Backwell businesses for supporting the post.

Richard Simmons from Nailsea scouts, said: “Most importantly, we owe a huge thanks to Stephen Pring of Pring & Co who very generously sponsors the cost of printing stamps for the 19th year running.”
