A TICKENHAM schoolgirl has been nominated for a £40,000 grant to help her realise her dream and sing opera at the Royal Albert Hall.

Florence Wadley, aged 14, is one of five nominees for an Ambition AXA Award with the cash development package awarded to the winner.

Voting for the grant begins today (Wed) and ends at midnight on Monday. The three nominees with the most votes will go to the awards ceremony at London, hosted by Carol Vorderman.

Florence, who is a member of the National Youth Choir, said: “I feel very honoured when people admire my voice. My ambition is to sing at the Royal Opera House and get to number one in the classical charts.”
