Hair and beauty salons in Portishead and Long Ashton went pink for charity last month, raising hundreds of pounds for breast cancer awareness.

Elements Hair and Beauty's staff sported pink hair, outfits and makeup to support
Breast Cancer Awareness Month throughout October.

The salons also held cake sales, raffles and special offers to raise more than £500 for Breast Cancer Now.

The Portishead branch also hosted an evening with Heidi Loughlin, an award-winning writer who told of her experiences battling inflammatory breast cancer, which raised extra cash.

Salon owner Natalie Charman said: "It was a great opportunity to raise awareness and funds.

"I would like to thank all our clients for supporting our fundraising initiatives and the in-house charity team and other staff members who worked hard to support the causes."
