A Portishead supermarket has named its latest charity partner.

Customers who shopped at Sainsbury’s, in Serbert Way, during June voted for Penny Brohn UK to be the beneficiary for 2018.

Store manager Robin Ireland said: “We are really excited to be working with Penny Brohn UK, supporting such a fantastic cause.

“Everyone at Portishead is looking forward to working together for a successful partnership.”

Penny Brohn UK community fundraiser, Ian Riddell, added: “We are delighted to be named the new local charity partner for Sainsbury’s Portishead.

“We’d like to thank everyone who voted for us, becoming the local charity partner will make a huge difference to us.”

A partnership launch for the Local Charity scheme will take place across Sainsbury’s stores from tomorrow (Thursday) until Sunday.

Penny Brohn UK is a cancer charity based in Pill.
