THE founder of Clevedon Athletics Club has handed over hundreds of pounds to charity after taking part in this year’s Boxing Day Run.

Geoff Hutton, aged 82, raised money for two good causes while taking part in the club’s annual event – the Bristol Urological Institute (BUI) prostate cancer research and Clevedon Community First Responders.

Geoff, of Ashton Close in Clevedon, is pictured handing over a cheque for £300 to Professor David Gillatt, consultant urologist at the BUI at Southmead Hospital, accompanied by Peter Balcombe of the Rotary Club of Clevedon, of which Geoff is also a member, and Ian Beattie of the Rotary Club of Bristol.

The Bristol club will hold the annual Run for the Future at Bristol Downs on September 8 to raise additional money for the BUI prostate cancer research.
