Hard-working rugby players from Portishead have raised hundreds of pounds for their sports team.

Gordano Rugby’s under-10s side carried out a bag-packing day at Sainsbury’s earlier this month to raise extra funds, which can be used for equipment and kits.

Pauline Rayner, from the supermarket, was full of praise for the youngsters.

She said: “They had a brilliant time and raised an amazing £775 by packing our customers’ shopping bags.

“The boys were very courteous and polite and the customers seemed very impressed with them. Well done all round.”
