THE Rotary Club of Portishead has made a donation to a campaign to eradicate polio, in memory of a fellow Rotarian.
Former chairman of the Rotary Foundation committee, Ted Steele, died earlier this year and as a tribute to him and his enthusiasm for the work to eradicate the disease, the Portishead group handed over a cheque for 200 to the Rotary Foundation to help with an overseas vaccination programme.
District chairman of the foundation, which is the arm of the organisation that distributes funds to Rotary’s selected good causes, Jill Johnston received the cheque from Portishead president Robin Ogilvie.
