Charity walks raise hundreds for leg club

Walkers raised more than £1,700 for Nailsea District Leg Club during a mass sponsored event.

Scores of fundraisers took part in the Nailsea Charity Walks and Runs event in June to raise money for the cause.

The club offers treatment for a number of different leg conditions in a group setting and has also been helping to prevent social isolation.

Nailsea Charity Walks and Runs is organised by Rotary Nailsea and Backwell and it raised more than £20,000 for charities and good causes this year.

A number of walkers took on one of the routes for the leg club, raising £1,741 for the charity.

Carole Brooke, chairman of Nailsea and District Leg Club, said: "We are very grateful to Rotary for organising Nailsea Charity Walks and Runs, which over the past few years has become a major fundraiser for the club."

The sponsored walk has been running for eight years and has raised more than £150,000 for charities.
