A ROTARIAN from Backwell has been honoured for his ‘significant service to the club and the community in the past year’.
Graham Hunt, of Church Lane, has been a member of the Nailsea and Backwell Rotary Club for the past four years and has picked up the Maine Plate award.
Club spokesman Mike Brayley said: “Graham has recently made major contributions to the Mike Hatch 30-mile walk from Bath to Nailsea, and the Nailsea Charity Walks this year, each of which raised more than 3,000 for a number of vital charities.
“His commitment and energy make him a worthy winner of the Maine Plate.”
The plate was given as a keepsake to a previous Rotary president while visiting the US state’s Rotary Club, who decided to give it to the Nailsea and Backwell branch as an award for special achievement each year.
