STUDENTS from rock schools in Portishead and Nailsea came together for an end-of-year concert which brought the house down.

Parents and friends gathered at Nailsea School to see the talents of members of the Rock Project, which launched in the area last year.

The would-be rock stars belted out numbers ranging from We Will Rock You and Smoke on the Water to Sweet Child of Mine and Rocking All Over the World, while demonstrating their guitar, bass and drumming skills, as well as vocal ability.

Andy Collins who runs the Rock Project said: “The show went brilliantly and demonstrated the high level of talent these students have. As a result of the interest and the project’s success we will definitely be expanding in September.”

The Rock Project, which teaches drums, bass, guitar and vocals to young people aged from seven to 18, will open in Clevedon next month. It will be at Yeo Moor Primary School in Kennaway Road on Tuesdays from 4.30pm. For more details call Andy on 01275 265226.
