A BUSY road in Barrow Gurney will remain closed for four months longer than originally thought due to work delays.

Wild Country Lane has been closed since January 16 to allow Bristol Water to carry out work on a water main which runs from treatment works at Barrow and finishes in Long Ashton. The lane was also due to be resurfaced.

It was due to only be closed for three months but this has now been extended to seven months because of operational delays. It is anticipated the work will be completed by July 27.

A diversion will remain in place during the road closure, which runs between the junctions with Weston Road and Pear Tree Avenue.
