Cyclist seriously injured after crashing into wall

A cyclist was seriously injured this afternoon (Friday) after crashing into a wall on a major A-road in North Somerset.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage which showed the man's accident.

The incident happened at about 4.10pm on Rownham Hill, near Leigh Woods.

The A369 was closed for some time while emergency services tended to the injured cyclist at the scene.

The man, who is in his 20s, was taken by paramedics to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for further medical treatment.

Witnesses to this afternoon's incident are now being sought by police as part of their investigation.

A spokesman for the force said: “We're now keen for anyone who saw what happened, or who may have dashcam or mobile phone footage of the incident, to get in touch.

“If you can help, please phone 101 and tell the call handler you are phoning in relation to log 658 of today.”
