December:

Contract hope for X Factor George: Clevedon’s X Factor star George Shelley missed out on a place in the final. George, aged 19, and his band Union J were up against solo singers James Arthur, Christopher Maloney and Jahmene Douglas in the semi-final of the show, but were eliminated after receiving the fewest public votes.

Helping the homeless: A generous Clevedon family appealed for help to find a homeless man a house. Angela Puddy and her family bought Tim and his dog Lady a tent so he could sleep in their garden and provided him with hot meals to help him keep warm while sleeping outside.

Church, homes and a new school on the horizon?: Hundreds of homes, a school, a church, offices and retirement homes could be built in Nailsea over the next 14 years. The plans were revealed as part of the sites and policies development plan document which sets out plans for development in North Somerset until 2026.

Stage is set for Summer Nights: Pupils at Nailsea School dressed as T-Birds and Pink Ladies to put on their production of Grease. The students transported audiences back to 1950s America to watch Danny and Sandy fall in love at Rydell High School.
