The Long Ashton Community Centre hosted the gathering organised by villager Ruth McAllister Kemp, where the area’s DJs Lavender and Pedro headlined the event.

Both professionals brought their top sets to the disco, which also featured a licensed bar by The Liquid Inn – a mobile service which travels around the region.

Ruth said: “The centre is a fantastic space and well run, with something on offer for everyone.

“When I decided to throw a disco there I just fancied a dance and wanted to run something which appealed to the whole village.

“The DJs were keen to do something, so I just organised for it to happen.”

Long Ashton villager Steven Dodds said the event was ‘absolutely brilliant’ and a ‘triumph’ and Amanda Halford said a Friday night shindig was ‘just what the area needed’.
