THE Portishead branch of the Royal British Legion is holding its annual remembrance parade and service on November 14.
Led by the Portishead Town Band, the parade will leave Stoke Road at 10.20am then proceed via the High Street to St Peter’s Church with the salute being taken by the town chairman on passing the Folk Hall. Wreaths will be laid and the two minutes silence observed at 11am.
On November 11 there will be a service of remembrance in Portishead precinct at 11am. And on November 7 a short service will be held in the Garden of Remembrance at St Peter’s Church at 12noon. Poppy crosses can be planted at this time and will be available to buy at the poppy shop on Stoke Road.
