RED noses have made an early appearance at a Portishead facility.

Parish Wharf Leisure Centre in Harbour Road has begun its countdown to Red Nose Day with the launch of a number of fundraising activities.

Customers are being invited to guess which hairstyle singer Jessie J will reveal and which best selling product Keith Lemon will unveil for Comic Relief after 3pm on March 15. Staff hope the competition sweepstakes, which award cash prizes to the winners, will also swell the coffers for Comic Relief charities.

On Red Nose Day, staff will be holding a bumper cake sale at the centre and will be paying to wear their pyjamas to work.

Creche supervisor Arcady Stokes, who is helping to organise the fundraising activities, said: “We hope to maximise our fundraising by starting early and hope all our customers will support the good causes that benefit from Comic Relief.”
