More than 300 people registered and Nailsea and Backwell Rotary, which organises the fundraiser, believes walkers will have raised a record amount.

Graham Hunt from the Rotary’s charity walks committee said: “We are delighted with how it went.

“It’s been a record event in two different ways – with a record number of people registering and we are certainly going to have raised more than we ever have before. We had a lot of great comments about how well it went and we ran two communal walks for the first time this year which went very well.

“We would like to thank everyone who took part.”

Participants could walk or run one of three routes to raise money for a charity.
