VILLAGERS in Pill will take part in a world record attempt for the longest piece of unbroken bunting as part of Fairtrade Fortnight.

On March 12, Fairtrade towns and villages nationwide will be taking part to break the current record of 2,696 metres with the aim of reaching 4,350 metres.

Residents of Pill, Ham Green and Easton-in-Gordano will take part in the event from 10am-12noon in Baltic Place, Pill.

Flags will be supplied, allowing children to draw or write a Fairtrade message on them, and every child who takes part will also get given a cake.

Anyone interested in taking part in the event, dubbed A Fairtrade Bunting and Bun Day, can turn up on the day.
