Paddington Bear is returning to cinema screens in November, but two real-life bears are residing in a Wraxall zoo.

Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm, in Clevedon Road, is home to two brother spectacled bears, Sonco and Tupa.

Paddington Bear, a fictional character created by writer Michael Bond, is a friendly spectacled bear from Peru in South America.

Although the bears at Noah’s Ark do not wear hats and duffle coats, they do have several similarities with Paddington.

The bears share a birthday with Paddington, on December 25, and they also love marmalade sandwiches.

Although marmalade is not part of the bears’ daily diet, if there is special medication that needs to be taken, the keepers will use the preserve to hide the medication’s nasty taste from Sonco and Tupa.
