SUNDAY night quiz players at Portishead’s Clarence House have raised 1,000 for the Children’s Hospice South West.

A cheque for the amount was presented to hospice representative Gordon Bleaken and the money will go toward the hospice’s facilities and the care it provides across the region.

Clarence House quiz master Terry Wan said: “We get a regular, good crowd in for the Sunday night general knowledge quiz. It’s a good night out and a bit of fun, but I think to have raised 1,000 over the months, for such a good cause is a fabulous achievement.”
