Pupils raise money for sick children
FOUR caring children from Nailsea cycled 15 miles to raise money for some new toys at Bristol Children’s Hospital.
Twins Toby and Jasper Houghton, aged seven, and their friends Daniel, aged seven, and Abigail James, aged 10, were so moved when they heard that the hospital could not afford to provide more toys for the young patients that they wanted to raise some cash to buy them a Wii and some new toys and games.
The foursome cycled from Yatton to Cheddar along the Strawberry Line and managed to raise 350 towards the appeal.
Suzanne Houghton, mum of Toby and Jasper, said: “The children came up with the idea themselves. We are very proud of them. They are very compassionate children.”
The youngsters, who attend Hannah More Infant School, also performed a Take That number in their school concert to raise money for the playroom at the children’s hospital.
