Road safety, community speedwatch and special constables were some of the issues raised at a public forum in Nailsea.

The event was hosted by Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Sue Mountstevens and Chief Constable Andy Marsh, Chief Inspector Leanne Pook and North Somerset Council leader Nigel Ashton also attended.

People last week were given the opportunity to ask questions on all policing issues.

PCC Sue Mountstevens said: “It’s important for the Chief Constable and I to have these meaningful discussions about policing with local people to ensure we know what residents care about and what is and sometimes what is not working for them in their local area.

“It’s clear that residents who take the time to attend our public forums care about their communities and want to make a positive change.

“The local policing issues they raised have been well and truly heard.”
