The second phase of Clevedon Community Centre’s refurbishment project has got under way.
The community centre in Princes Road has been undergoing a number of changes, including getting new flooring and the upgrading of the bar area, while the Princes Hall foyer was decorated, re-carpeted and fitted out with new furniture.
Rob Gemmell, treasurer, said: “Thanks to grants from Clevedon Town Council, donations from individuals, local charitable organisations and considerable voluntary help, the centre has now been able to completely refurbish the main kitchen area and Squirrel’s restaurant.
“Clevedon Community Association is anticipating that these makeovers will attract additional bookings for events and wedding receptions and encourage a wider audience to use all of the facilities offered by the centre.”
A number of businesses have also volunteered their services to the refurbishment project, with staff from Tesco re-painting one of the rooms in Sunhill House.
The women’s toilet has also been refurbished.
Later this year it is hoped that the Princes Hall will be re-painted and the full-length curtains between it and the Jubilee Lounge replaced.
