HORSE riders in Clevedon have formed a new association aimed at lobbying for a new safe path for them to use in the town.
More than 30 riders attended a meeting to encourage horse owners to work together to campaign for a permissive path to be created. These require land owners giving them permission to ride across their land but do not require an application for a formal right of way to be made.
The Riders’ Rights and Safety Association was formed at the meeting and already a positive step forward has been made, with one farmer offering some of his fields for horse riders to use.
Horse owners hope a permissive path can be created on land around the town after raising concerns about the amount of traffic now using Clevedon’s roads and country lanes.
