A three car collision is causing delays in Portishead this afternoon (Thursday).

Wyndham Way was closed between the Portbury Hundred and Harbour Road roundabout near Sainsbury's supermarket at around 2.30pm after a collision involving three cars.

The road is blocked and traffic is queueing due to the accident northbound from B3124 Portbury Common to Quays Avenue.

There is also congestion to the B3124 Bristol Road near the Albion pub due to traffic avoiding the closure.

First Bus' X3, X4 and X5 services will be affected.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service are on the scene.

A spokesman said: "We are currently responding to a road traffic collision involving three vehicles on Wyndham Way in Portishead.

"The road is currently closed inbound into Portishead between the Portbury Hundred and Sheepway roundabout and the Sainsbury's roundabout.

"Please make appropriate considerations and plan ahead if you are travelling through the area this afternoon to avoid delays or travel disruption."

UPDATE: 17:48pm** The road has now been cleared.
