The Portishead Summer Show committee is delighted to confirm the 158th show will be held in late July.

The committee said the decision to delay lockdown easing does not affect the family-friendly days out, as agricultural and flower shows joined the list of permitted events at stage 2 of lockdown easing, and the show will be run in a Covid secure manner, adhering to government guidelines.

The event normally costs £25,000 to put on, but the committee says taking account of additional safety measures their costs are greater this year. Members thanked Portishead Town Council for providing a grant which has meant that the show can go ahead.

People can take part in a host of arena attractions including circus acts, gundogs, ferrets and falconry at the show and there are 300 competition classes to enter, with something for all ages from pre-schoolers to senior citizens.

Portishead Summer Show show field is located on the corner of Clapton Lane and Clevedon Road, opposite Gordano School, and takes place on July 24-25, on Saturday from 11.30am-6pm and Sunday from 10am-6pm.
