A Clevedon gym will be able to buy new boxing equipment for children.

Eisey's Community Gym (ECG) received £300 from Portishead Rotary Club.

A charity spokesman said: "ECG's aim is not to exclude anyone and run various sessions including a boxing class for adults with learning disabilities every Thursday 11am to noon coached by Simon Flett."

Ian Eisentrager, ECG's head boxing coach, gratefully received the donation.

The gym welcomes all ages and runs boxing sessions every Thursday for juniors from 4.30-5.15pm, youths from 5.20-6.05pm, with an adults session beginning at 7pm. The sessions cost £3 per person on a pay as you go basis.

The Rotary club is looking for more members.
