Collision on M5 causing delays

Traffic is slow on the M5 this morning (Friday) due to a collision near Portishead.

The crash occurred northbound between Junction 20 (Clevedon) and Junction 19 (Portishead) and emergency services are at scene working to clear vehicles.

A Highways England spokesman said: “Cars have been moved to the hard shoulder.

“Please take care on your approach and thanks for your patience.”

The incident was reported at 9.10am and there are delays of 20 minutes.

*UPDATE 11.19am* One lane is closed and normal traffic conditions are expected between 12.15-12.30pm.

*UPDATE 12.02pm* Traffic conditions have returned to normal and Junction 19 is clear.
