A 10-part series, called Saving Lives At Sea, starts on BBC Two tonight (Tuesday).

The show features real rescues carried out by RNLI crews around the country, and Portishead’s team is among those featured.

An RNLI spokesman said: “Following the huge success of the two previous series, the most recent of which was broadcast last year, this series features more real-life rescue footage, accompanied by heart-warming and emotive testimonials from the volunteer crews, lifeguards and the people they rescue and their families.”

Filming took place over the past 12 months, with crews carrying cameras and welcoming film-makers into their lives.

The programme is being shown on Tuesdays at 8pm, and will be broadcast in August, September and October. Weston RNLI will also be featured.
