One of North Somerset’s most popular attractions has received hundreds of pounds for new equipment.

Portishead Pool Community Trust, which runs the lido in Esplanade Road, has benefitted from a donation from Portishead Rotary Club.

The club presented the trust with a £500 cheque, which will be spent on an outdoor radio microphone.

The lido has proved hugely popular over the winter, with hundreds of people enjoying swims in the heated pool.

A Rotary club spokesman said: “We are keen to support projects in the local community and members are particularly pleased to support Portishead Pool Community Trust
as part of its ongoing project to improve facilities both in and out of the pool.

“The Rotary club is due to celebrate its 40th birthday later this year. We’re looking to welcome new members.”
