NETBALL players from Portishead have raised hundreds of pounds toward new equipment.

The Portishead Pirates held a Christmas fair at Jubilee Hall in Slade Road on November 20, attracting more than 150 visitors and raising £625 in just three hours.

The team, which joined the Weston League Division 2 in September and is currently undefeated, will use the money to buy new equipment and pay for more training.
