Parents and children looking for things to do when the schools break up next month are in luck, as one of Portishead’s most popular attractions promises to deliver a winter warmer.

Portishead Open Air Pool will offer heated swimming sessions during the February half-term break after the huge success enjoyed by the lido over Christmas.

It was the first time the Portishead Pool Community Trust had heated the pool, and it proved a huge success.

Almost 2,000 people took a dip at the lido, in Esplanade Road, over the festive season as the water was warmed to a balmy 29C, prompting organisers to make the heated swims more common.

There will be sessions from 11am-4pm on February 16, 17 and 24, a slot from noon until 4pm on February 23 and on February 20 the pool will be open from 1-7pm to coincide with the full moon.

Tickets, priced £5.92, are available online at www.portisheadopenairpool.org.uk
