A Portishead nursery held a Father’s Day bake off which saw children cooking delicious delights with their dads.

The Nursery in Combe Road held the competition to celebrate the big day in style and teach life skills.

Youngsters took their cake and biscuit creations into the nursery throughout the week for staff to judge.

Nursery manager Angelene McCormack said: “We always like to set a special challenge in the run up to Father’s Day which encourages children to be creative with their dads.

“Last year it was junk modelling, this year it was the bake off. We chose cooking this year because it is a great fun, engaging activity for all children that promotes development in many areas.

“It also teaches the children skills they can use throughout their life.”
