Archant

The hard work by volunteers in Portishead has gone under the microscope, with hopes of continuing a long run of success.

South West In Bloom judges were given a tour of the town on July 8, with Portishead In Bloom bidding for its 12th gold award in a row.

Inspectors Terry Porter and Mike Foy took a close look at the town's streets and green spaces in a three-hour tour which started with a presentation at Court House Farm.

The walk took in new and old parts of Portishead before concluding in Jubilee Park, where the North Somerset Community Brass Band performed a short concert.

Portishead In Bloom has claimed a coveted gold award from South West In Bloom for 11 consecutive years.

After countless hours of hard work sprucing up public spaces and planting pretty flowers in recent weeks and months, the team is confident of receiving top marks from South West In Bloom's judges again.
