Portishead’s flower show and country fair will return under a new guise this summer.

A wide range of attractions and entertainment will be showcased at Portishead Summer Show from July 27-28 at the flower show field, in Clapton Lane.

People will be able to enter their creations in more than 300 exhibition classes, and a wide range of arena events including gundogs and falconry will be enjoyed.

There will also be plenty of live music performances and some children’s games.

Show secretary Linda Hodgetts believes the change will make it clearer what the show is about.

She said: “We have rebranded the show following feedback from young families who felt the current name did not reflect what we actually offered.

“The show is an opportunity for the community, young and old, to come together in the summer to showcase local talent and to enjoy arena entertainment which is not available at any other event in Portishead.”
