A Portishead care home was treated to a visit from a group of special guests.

Youngsters from a nearby mother and toddler group, Mini Monkeys, visited residents at Haven Lodge care home, in Harbour Road.

The group of four toddlers spent quality time with the residents and built a car track and listened to music.

The visit, which took place in December, saw residents reminiscing about their childhoods as they watched and joined in with play time.

Samuel Okello, from Haven Lodge, said: “I believe the residents were showing a lot of care and compassion.

“Some of the residents were seen holding the hands of the kids and talking to them.

“The parents felt a visit once a month would be beneficial to the residents and enhance their wellbeing.”

Mini Monkeys’ Louise Meek got in touch with the home after watching Old People’s Home For Four Year Olds on Channel 4 to organise bringing her two-year-old son Reggie along for a play date.
