THE Backwell and Flax Bourton branch of the Royal British Legion will be starting door-to-door collections for the Poppy Appeal next month.

Fundraising for the appeal goes on throughout the year but the street collections will begin on October 27 for two weeks.

A recent coffee morning run by the branch raised £155 towards the charity’s benevolent work and for the running of the branch.

Members would like to thank everyone who turned up to support the event.
