Air rifles have been seized in Clevedon after ducks were shot and killed at the weekend.

Police were called yesterday afternoon (Sunday) after a member of the public witnessed a man shooting ducks in a river behind Strode Road, killing two of them.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesman said: “Police were called at 3.30pm on Sunday by a member of the public reporting that someone had shot and killed two ducks in Strode Road, Clevedon.

“Officers have today seized two air rifles from a 20-year-old man and enquiries continue.”
