Police seek cyclist who struck woman, 65, in Portishead

A 65-year-old woman was injured in Portishead after being hit by a cyclist as she exited a car, prompting a police appeal.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has urged witnesses of the incident, which happened on September 25 between 8-10am, to come forward.

The woman was getting out of a car in Burlington Road when she was struck by the cyclist.

He was riding on the pavement.

The woman fell to the floor and suffered facial injuries, which required hospital treatment.

A police spokesman said: "We need your help to find a cyclist following an incident in Portishead.

"The cyclist failed to stop following the incident had continued to cycle on.

"He is described as a black male with short curly hair.

"He was wearing dark clothing.

"He is believed to be an adult."

Witnesses to the accident are urged to call 101, quoting reference number 5219221968.
