Police are investigating a second car fire in Clevedon in the past few days.

Avon Fire and Rescue called Avon and Somerset Constabulary to Parnell Road at about 8.35pm yesterday (Thursday).

The blaze was extinguished when they arrived, but a Volkswagen car is thought to have been deliberately set alight some time between 5pm on August 2 and yesterday morning.

A second car fire took place in Teignmouth Road at about 2.32am this morning (Friday).

It was put out by Avon Fire and Rescue crews from Clevedon and Nailsea using high pressure hose reels, foam and dry powder extinguishers.

The incident caused damage to neighbouring cars and guttering on a nearby property.

It is also believed to have been started deliberately.
