The centre of Wrington was closed off this evening (Sunday), with villagers reporting a shooting had taken place inside a pub.
Police closed off Broad Street tonight and paramedics were also on the scene.
Villagers said a man had taken a shotgun into The Golden Lion pub and a shot was fired.
The incident occurred at about 8pm.
Five police cars were on the scene but at this stage Avon and Somerset Constabulary have not released a statement regarding what happened, whether anyone was injured or if any arrests have been carried out.
