The Grade I-listed attraction put on a variety of Words on the Waves activities in partnership with the community bookshop.

The visitor centre’s porthole room was transformed into a cosy reading and writing den while visitors could also venture out to take part in a weather walk.

Various craft activities were also laid on for youngsters including a task to create a picture related to different sounds.

Budding writers were also able to try their hand at coming up with a poem based on the pier.
