A PINK fun day has raised 1,200 for cancer charities.
The Parish family who live in Portishead decided to organise the event after a three-year-old family member was diagnosed with Leukaemia.
They hired a public hall and held a pink fashion show, a pink cake sale and organised stalls, tombola, refreshments and a raffle, with the aim of raising 1,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Grandmother Lyn Parish said: “It was a lot of hard work but we did it and raised 1,200 in total.” 1,000 will be donated to Cancer Research and 200 will go the oncology ward at Bristol’s children’s hospital where Lyn’s grandson is being treated.
